Choosing Again: What Resilience Looks Like in Real Life
“There is strength in staying the course, but there is also strength in knowing when to choose again.”
There’s a phrase I’ve been thinking about a lot lately: choose again.
We make plans, commit to them, and move forward with the best information we have. Then sometimes circumstances change, and resilience becomes less about sticking rigidly to the original plan and more about paying attention to what’s actually in front of us.
That’s where I found myself with the upcoming Resilience for Progress fall retreat.
I love the full weekend format. Trout Lodge creates space for women to step away from normal life, reconnect with themselves, and focus on their Physical, Personal, Professional, and Prosperity well-being.
But as October got closer, I kept hearing the same thing: women were interested, but a full weekend away, plus lodging and the overall commitment, felt hard to make work.
I wrestled with that. Part of me wanted to stay the course because that was the plan, and yes, changing direction felt a little like admitting defeat. But resilience is not always about pushing harder. Sometimes it means reassessing, adapting, and making a better choice based on what you’ve learned.
So this fall, Resilience for Progress is shifting from a full weekend retreat to a one-day mini retreat at Innsbrook on Sunday, October 25.
The heart of the experience stays the same. We’ll step away from the usual noise, reflect on where life feels strong and where it may feel out of balance, and focus intentionally on the areas that shape our overall well-being.
The format is simply more accessible: one day, no hotel required, lunch included, and meaningful time dedicated to you.
This decision has reminded me that progress rarely happens in a straight line. We assess, learn, adjust, and keep moving. There is strength in staying the course, but there is also strength in knowing when to choose again. I’m excited that this new format may make it easier for more women to say yes.
Because the goal was never simply to hold a retreat. The goal is to create space for women to reconnect with themselves, gain clarity, and make meaningful progress toward the lives they want to build. That part hasn’t changed.
